Great, searching questions. I have been working through questions like this for awhile. The one that kills me is number 4. I still love recognition, brother. I am seeking to cast down this idol everyday by believing the gospel.

God has not seen fit to grace me with a congregation but he has given me a family. These questions are fantastic for me as a husband and father to examine my love for my family.
May God bless you with the knowledge that his grace has flowed through you to me.
I grew up in MA. Keep fighting to bring New England back to Jesus by the power of his Holy Spirit.

Thank you for this, I need this posted visually as well. I too often forget that ministry is about God and His people and not about me.

Matthew...awesome brother, simply awesome. Thanks for pouring over the text and then pouring yourself out for the benefit of others. The simplicity of your questions is their beauty and sharpness that has both cut and comforted me.

Hope to see you at a boot camp soon.

Thanks for these questions. This was one of the best things I've read in a long time, particularly regarding church planting. How do I keep my heart from my own idols--whether that's personal glory or success or just comfort? I think these 18 questions are diagnostic in their pointedness, reminding me where I'm failing and need to check myself and pray harder.

I'm printing it out and slapping it all over my house, or wherever my wife will let me. Thanks again!
