Praying Without Speaking

This week the book of Psalms shapes our praying together by calling us to close our mouths and think deeply on the greatness of God and the work He has done in establishing His people by the gospel…. here is a summary of our sermon from Psalm 48:

The view is overwhelming. Looking on Jerusalem, the city of God, the gathering of His saints, takes your breath away. The stories contained within these strong walls are innumerable… stories of grace, stories of faithfulness, stories of victory. God dwells here in a unique way. Awestruck, you pray. Psalm 48, a corporate call to refl ect on the many redemptive works of God among His people, captures for us the words and tone of meditative prayer, prayer that rejoices in the realities of the Gospel and the heavenly Jerusalem.
