At Seven Mile Road we work from a missional ecclesiology in which called, gifted and qualified elders (or pastors if you prefer), with the support of a team of gifted and qualified deacons, lead the all members of Christ’s body here in gathering, giving, growing, serving, loving, uniting, and scattering on mission to engage our culture toward its redemption with the Gospel.
We are not a church where a few "ministers" do the work and a bunch of "parishioners" kind of check in. One of Jesus' metaphors for His church is that we are like His body, and even a SUNY-Albany grad knows that a body can't function without all its members actively playing their part. And so membership is a big deal at Seven Mile.
I Am In Member Classes meet a couple of times a year on a Saturday to bring new folks up to speed on all that means to lock arms with this community. Info on the next class will be posted when the time comes.
Member Forums occur regularly at which our pastors and members converse about all things Seven Mile Road.
